Oster Targets November Comeback

John Oster is targeting mid November, and a Premier League match with Arsenal as a possible return date from injury.

A long term ankle injury, which flared up again recently in a reserve match, has kept him out for most of the season, which is a blow not only to him personally but Reading too as we have had problems filling the right side of midfield due to injuries and players being sold. Oster will definitely miss the next two matches but is targeting the Arsenal match to return, he told readingfc.co.uk, “It’s difficult because I don’t want to rush back. I need to be playing regularly without setbacks. I have to get everything right this time so that when I do come back it’s for good.

“I’d like to think that later this week I’ll do some running. All being well I’ll be fit for the Arsenal game, not totally match fit I suppose, but I might be available to be on the bench. That would be ideal for me.

“The serious part of the injury was the ruptured ligaments and they are all fine now. It’s just the little things niggling away at my ankle now.”

Bobby Convey looks set to return against Newcastle, and in the problematic right side of midfield area so he will be looking to stake his claim now.
