O’Dea hits out

Celtic defender O’Dea spent the first half of the season on loan at the Madejski Stadium after being brought in by Brendan Rodgers. He went on to start 7 games for the club, with another from the bench, but has since returned to Glasgow and didn’t feature at all under Brian McDermott.

He praised Rodgers and told the Irish Herald he enjoyed his time at the club, ‘I am glad I went to Reading and I learned a lot about the game in the time I was there. Brendan Rogers was a great manager and a good bloke.’

However he went on to have some interesting comments about who exactly is bringing this club down, and he is adament it was not the departed Rodgers. ‘There are other people at the club who were bringing it down. Brendan was one of the good things about the club and I owe him a lot. It’s just a pity that other people at the club were not helping, and I think that Reading, as a club, will struggle until those people are gone.’

So who are these ‘other people’? My initial thoughts are Director of Football Nicky Hammond and Chief Executive Nigel Howe.

Who do you think O’Dea was talking about, let us know your thoughts……
