O’Connor Fires A Warning

As Reading prepare for the trip to Turf Moor to take on Burnley tomorrow, Clarets midfielder James O’Connor has fired a warning to the table toppers.

O’Connor thinks that his team have got to ?get stuck in? to get the right result from the table toppers, the ex-Stoke player wants revenge for the defeat his side suffered at the Mad Stad earlier in the season which he feels they were unlucky to lose.

On paper it does look to be a tall order for Steve Cotterill’s side, they only have one win in their last ten league games and have found the net just five times, one of them being an own goal in the game against Norwich City.

Burnley also sit in 14th place in the league on 43 points, that’s exactly half of the Royal’s total for the season so far.

But that won’t stop O’Connor having a go, he told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph: ‘Reading’s form possibly takes the pressure off us, but if you go back to the game at the Madejski Stadium earlier in the season I thought we were a little unlucky to lose the game.

‘We felt we held our own and if we can get among them on Saturday we can give them a fright. They are well organised, but they are far from unbeatable and we certainly won’t fear them. We’ll get stuck into them and hopefully we can get the right result.’
