Marcus Hahnemann and Glen Little have extended their contracts with Reading until 2008.

Both players could have left the Madejski in the summer on free transfers and they not put pen to paper on these new deals.

Hahnemann and Little were both key members of last seasons Championship winning team and it was only a matter of time before they signed new contracts with the club. The deals should effectively see the players finish their careers at Reading.

Nicky Hammond, Director of Football, was extremely pleased that the players have decided to stay on as part of the Royals family:

‘We are very pleased they have signed new contracts.

‘Marcus and Glen have both been instrumental figures in the success that Reading Football Club has enjoyed over the past few years.’

United States goalkeeper, Hahnemann, was also delighted that his future is decided and that he will be staying on at the club.

‘The more time I’ve spent here the better it’s got, and I’ve never hidden the fact that I wanted to stay.

‘My family is happy here, this is the club where I made my name and got back into the (US) national team. I’m happy to sign.’

Meanwhile Glenn Little confided that he is happy where he is and hope that he can wind down his playing days at Reading:

‘There’s a great spirit in the dressing room and when you’re at a club where you enjoy training every day, you want to stay.

‘Things have gone well for me here, we’re new to The Premiership and really enjoying it.

‘I want to stay at Reading until the end of my career so I had no hesitation in signing this contract,’ Little said.
