The Reading players finally gave the supporters something to cheer throughout September and many players have produced their best form in a Reading shirt during this month. Here are my top 3 performers for September:

3. Oliver Norwood-

Norwood started his Reading career wonderfully at the start of last year, spraying balls left right and centre. However, when Clarke came in, he bought Chalobah with him, who kept Norwood out of the side. This season, Nathaniel can not be with us, allowing Norwood to win back his place and he has began the campaign with a bang. During September, Oli scored an absolute screamer against Ipswich and put in some heroic showing at Bristol City and Burnley. A fabulous month for our central midfielder.

2. Paul McShane-

The Royals skipper has started life at Reading as well as I can ever remember any player doing. Paul is an absolute warrior at the heart of our defence and he is a man that loves defending. If McShane doesn’t go off the pitch with a head bandage on then he’d be disappointed and this is what fans love seeing. He’s not only a class defender, but McShane is also Comfortable with the ball at his feet. McShane also put in warrior like performances against Bristol City and Burnley. The best Centre Back I have seen at Reading in my 12 or so years of watching.

1. Nick Blackman-

Who else but this man? I, along with many Reading fans, felt that Blackmans career was over after 2 mediocre seasons in the championship, scoring just nine goals. Blackman has now scored eight goals in twelve appearances this year. During September, Nick scored one and got two assists against Ipswich, whilst also scoring against Bristol City, Burnley and Everton. A wonderful start that’ll hopefully continue. As us Reading fans say, you better believe he scores goals.
