Graeme Murty has joined Charlton on a one-month loan deal.

Murty has only just returned from calf and hamstring injuries, featuring in his first match of the season against Cardiff in the FA Cup last Saturday. Director of football Nicky Hammond feels the loan is a good move: ‘Murts has just come back to fitness after six months out and needs to get some games under his belt, so hopefully this loan move will give him that opportunity,’ Hammond told the official website.

The 34-year-old has been with Reading since 1998 and this move could cast doubts over his long-term future with Reading but the noises coming out of the club is that he will return to have a future with the club.

Do you think that allowing Graeme Murty to leave on-loan was the right thing to do?
