Sean Morrison has said that Jordan Obita has the potential to play at the highest level.

The 19-year old has started the past two games for Reading and has impressed, especially in the draw with Millwall on Saturday. Obita is a product of the academy and on appointment, Nigel Adkins said he wants to use youth throughout his tenure as manager.

Speaking to the Official Reading FC website about Obita, Morrison said: ‘He’s done fantastic, he’s a young lad and so there’s a lot of pressure on him. There’s been a lot of talk about Jordan since I’ve been here, about how good he can be and how good he’s going to be.’

‘As long as he keeps his feet on the ground – which I know he will because he’s a very level headed lad and he works his socks off every day in training, and he takes on advice very well – there’s nothing but big things ahead for him.’

It’s impossible to say whether Obita will make it at this stage, but he is going the right way about it. He can become anonymous in games at times, but he certainly doesn’t look out of his depth at the moment.
