At their new home at Farnborough’s Cherrywood Road, the reserves recorded a comfortable 3-1 victory on Monday night and with Brendan Rodgers in attendance, there will be a few first team players hoping for a first team recall.

Jay Tabb opened the scoring with a simple tap in and performed well in midfield, whilst Irish striker Dave Mooney had a hand in two goals. He set up academy prospect (no relation!) Jacob Walcott for the second goal before having a hand in the third which was scored by Hal Robson Kanu.

Adam Federici won’t be too worried about his number 1 jersey though as Ben Hamer made a howler for the visitors goal!

Scott Davies and Alex Pearce were the other first teamers involved and all will be looking to get themselves back in Rodgers thought’s.

Its Mooney though has who can class himself most unlucky to be excluded from the first team, making only one appearance on the bench this season and not getting on) away at Swansea, despite scoring twice in two starts in the Carling Cup. With lack of goals a real problem, we could worse that starting the former Cork striker.
