Royals captain Matt Mills is rumoured to be catching the eye of Premier League strugglers West Brom as the end of the transfer window draws closer.

The Baggies have been struggling at the back lately and are in desperate need of a new centre half and Sky Sports reports that they have made an enquiry.

Brian McDermott has maintained that we will not sell any players this January but if a firm bid is made, then it will test the resolve of the manager and also the chairman.

The recent addition of Sean Morrison also adds to the rumour with some sceptical fans asking if he has been brought to replace Mills.

Keeping mills will be a huge test for the club and its future ambitions. If his Madgesty is rserious about finding a buyer for the club, its much easier to market a well run, prosperous club with many assets and potential. Mills is a much sought after player at the moment and it’ll be a huge statement of intent to turn down offers at this stage, as his value is more than likely to double if you manage to go up in the playoffs

Can’t see Mills leaving, or indeed wanting to leave for West Brom. He is captain here and he appears to have a lot of respect, as do all the players, for McDermott. And it has been said plenty of times this window that we don’t need to sell, lets hope Madejski backs that up with his actions and turns down any bids
