Reading midfielder Jem Karacan is facing another spell on the sidelines, after revealing his most recent injury will keep him out for six weeks.

The 23-year old suffered the injury against Liverpool over a week ago, going into a 50-50 with Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard. Karacan revealed via his Twitter account that the extent of the injury will mean he will be out for over a month, after the Turkish midfielder had a scan on the injury last week.

This injury could potentially restrict Reading’s centre midfield options, with some reports saying that Royals boss Brian McDermott has fallen out with Danny Guthrie and has been told to stay away of the training ground. Despite denying these rumours, it means that the Royals boss is likely to stick with the partnership of Tabb & Leigertwood for tomorrow’s game against Arsenal.
