Reading are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Paul McShane in the one nil victory over Huddersfield Town at the weekend at the Madejski Stadium was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why McShane was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘After having a man sent off in their two previous fixtures, Jaap Stam was no doubt delighted to see Reading keep 11 players on the pitch against then table-toppers Huddersfield Town. And the Dutchman will have been even happier with the display of skipper McShane, who was in imperious form at the back, laying the foundations for a 1-0 win.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to McShane for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Full Team:

Stuart Nelson (Gillingham), Paul McShane (Reading), Luke Croll (Exeter City), Aden Flint (Bristol City), Ryan Colclough (MK Dons), Gary Roberts (Portsmouth), Kieran Lee (Sheffield Wednesday), Cameron McGeehan (Luton Town), Joao Teixeira (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Glenn Murray (Brighton), Rickie Lambert (Cardiff City).

Manager – Keith Hill (Rochdale).
