McDermott – Win was for Federici

Federici was at fault for West Brom`s second goal and it looked like his error would knock us out of the cup until Brian Howard popped up with an equaliser in stoppage time, before Gylfi Sigurdsson`s stunning extra time winner.

McDermott was delighted and said his side won the game for Federici. He told readingfc.co.uk, “I`m so pleased for him because I know how is he feeling. The key really was to win the game for Adam, he`s pulled balls back out of the top corner against Doncaster, against Palace and I was pleased for him that we won the game.”

The Royals manager was dissapointed at the scenes the followed he final whistle and saw Jobi McAnuff sent off but doesn`t want that to take the gloss off a great win.

“It doesn`t sound like Jobi but the referee has seen what he has seen, and will do what he has got to do. But for me that doesn`t take the gloss off anything”

It was some game and the way McDermott has inspired this side, not just on the FA cup run, has been fantastic. He should be mighty proud of his work so far, and lets hope it carries on starting Saturday against Sheffield Wednesday, before the quarter final tie.

I cannot wait!
