Brian McDermott was a happy man after the win over Leicester on Saturday, and he feels we have done ourselves justice after the defeat to Northampton on Tuesday.

Speaking to the Official Site after the game, he said –

‘Our fans will go home delighted, after the way we played on Tuesday night we have done ourselves justice.’

There were a number of excellent displays, including Shaun Cummings who was one of best players. Considering he has been out in the cold for nearly a year and written off by many, I was pleased to see him put in a good performance. McDermott was equally as pleased,

‘Shaun Cummings played his first ever game for me and he was fabulous. He was composed on the ball, got to the ball quickly and as a team we gave him a round of applause in the dressing room – he deserved it!’

The former Chelsea defender will be hoping to keep his place after the performance, but McDermott confirmed that Andy Griffin and Marcus Williams should be back for the Palace game.

‘I’d imagine we would have Griffin and Williams back for the next game, hopefully Brynjar too.’

So just like last season we have got our first win in the final game before the international break – lets hope we don’t have to wait so long for the next one, like we did last season!
