Reading manager Brian McDermott is delighted with his teams performance yesterday afternoon, after they put three past West Ham in this 100th game in charge of the Royals.
Two goals from Simon Church who was celebrating his 23rd birthday and from defender Alex Pearce was enough to see of the Hammers, who had two men sent off in the second half.
McDermott told the official RFC site: ‘It’s a game to remember, West Ham will be close to winning this Championship, they’ve got a great manager and staff. We’re a team trying to evolve, we done that to probably the best side in the division.’

West Ham boss Sam Allardyce saw Joey O’Brien and Jack Collison sent off, but agreed with the referee’s decisions. He said: ‘The referee is right with Joey O’Brien, he’s retaliated to a bad challenge from Noel Hunt which I thought was a straight red.’
‘What Jack did was irresponsible, we made life hugely difficult and paid the ultimate price. We didn’t defend the free kick properly, we should have seen it out.’
