Reading manager Brian McDermott and goalkeeper Adam Federici have won the nPower Championship manager and player of the month respectively.

During the month of February, Reading played four games against Coventry, Derby, Burnley and Middlesbrough, winning all of them. McDermott was key to that superb run of form and also signed his new three-and-half year contract during this month.

Australian international Federici has been one of the Royals’ most consistent performers this season and did not concede a single goal in the month of February. His display in the 3-0 win against Coventry was the most notable, making three world class saves in the second half.

McDermott was contending with Southampton manager Nigel Adkins and Brighton boss Gus Poyet, while Federici was up against free-scoring striker Rickie Lambert and Ipswich winger Lee Martin for the award.
