Madejski: This deal was the best we could get

Sir John Madejski believes the Thai consortium would be the best offer the club would get for new investment.

All four investors are believed to be billionaires, who are willing to pump money into the club straight away. The consortium’s takeover is yet to be ratified by the Football League, but the Royals chairman would be very surprised if it was not completed very soon.

Speaking to the BBC about the impending takeover, Sir John reveals that: ‘I have great hopes and as far as I am concerned this is the best we can do by a mile. This has rolled on for a very long time since the Zingarevich family decided to up stumps and move away.’

‘We’ve had a tedious year but we have finally now found some very nice people to take over. Last time, I was so beguiled by the credentials of his billionaire status and the fact Anton went to school nearby it seemed like it was too good to be true and sadly it was.’

The Zingarevich saga has caused people to question our future with the Thai’s, but I will always trust Madejski, despite the mess-up with Anton. Let’s now hope they will pump money in before the confirmation, so Adkins can get players in before the Wigan game on Saturday.
