Reading chairman John Madejski has scotched rumours of an approach from Charlton Athletic Steve Coppell.
There has been a bit of a ?will he won?t he?? situation over Coppell when the question arose of whether he would sign a new deal or not.
And the situation has been made worse with Coppell?s name being bandied about as one of the favourites to succeed Alan Curbishley at Charlton.
Madejski has no such fears of the boss leaving Reading and insists that he will sign a new contract when he returns from Holiday in the USA.
Madejski told The Reading Chronicle: ‘It’s all been agreed with Steve.
‘It’s just a question of sorting out the fine print but we’ll certainly make sure that it happens soon.
‘Both the club and Steve are happy with that and it will be nice to get it all done and move forward with next season in mind.’

I can’t see SC wanting to leave what he has built at Reading, there can be no greater joy than taking the team you have built out on that first premiership match, so enjoy.
Dnt think he will leave, why would he after all he has done!
Anyway what a season we go up and swindon and oxford both go down very happy!
Agree, why leave a club you’ve bought up, especially to go to one that is very similar.
