Looking Forward to Forest

Reading play their first away game of the 18/19 Sky Bet Championship season tomorrow with a trip to Nottingham Forest.

Both teams come into this game looking for their first win of the season after the Royals opening day defeat to Derby and Forest having drawn both of their opening games so far this campaign.

Forest made eleven signings over the summer, and Aitor Karanka’s squad are tipped to have a good year this year. Deadline day signing Michael Hefele from Huddersfield could slot straight into the defence on Saturday, and fellow defender Joe Worrall has recovered from an illness that kept him out of the midweek tie against West Brom.

Reading could welcome back Liam Moore after his transfer saga came to an end on deadline day, although you would have to question whether he is match fit and whether he is in the correct state of mind to play. Tyler Blackett returns from suspension so could offer manager Paul Clement a different option at full back to the young Omar Richards. Sam Baldock and Marc McNulty are both pushing to make their full debuts, but one person who will not feature is Adrian Popa. Clement confirmed the Romanian is back in training but would not be fit enough to play a part at the City Ground.

I’ve been impressed with the start Forest have made, I personally think they should have won both of their games so far this campaign. Is that a case of them being unlucky, or not being good enough to clinch all three points? Either way, I predict a tough test for Paul Clement’s side at the weekend, and could quite easily see our recent miserable run in Nottingham continue.
