Little Big Adventure

The return of Glen Little was pretty much the only positive to come out of the lacklustre defeat at home to Fulham and although the winger didn’t make a major impact on the game his mere presence lifted the fans. The Royals favourite wants to put the abysmal result in the past and he believes he can help the Royals with the giant task of over coming Arsenal on their own turf.

Arsenal are currently the only side in the Premier League that the Royals have failed to take a single point off since promotion two seasons ago, but Little believes the Royals have what it takes to pull off a shock result.

‘Unfortunately for us they seem to give us a good going over every time we play them,’ Little said.

‘We have to make sure we’re up for it, give as good as we get and try to do the best we can even though we know it’s going to be very difficult going there.

‘We have some tough games to come, but we still need four or five points to be safe.

‘I’ve been around a long time and you always know you are going to be up against it at Old Trafford, Stamford Bridge and Arsenal.

‘It’s very rare you are going to get a result, but it can be done.

‘We seem to do well against Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea – usually running them close – but unfortunately for us we haven’t done that against Arsenal.

‘If there is ever a time to do that it’s now because we badly need to.’

One thing is for sure, the do badly need the points but if they play anywhere near as badly as they did against Fulham it’s gonna be a stroll for the Gunners. Then again, with Glen Little back in the team, anything is possible.

We were truly woeful against Fulham. Nothing to lose against Arsenal, you never know. Then again they’ll probably just batter us…

I totally agree, I think SC should tell the players that the pressure is off and just have a go. I would rather lose 4-2 at Arsenal and have positives come out of the game. Just to score would be a bonus. I do think Doyle needs to get in the Reserves and start scoring though, however with only Long and Kitson to fall back on we are rather limited. Should SC bring Lita back early? More to the point would Lita want to come back? I just want to see the lads play with some pride after that rubbish on Saturday!
