The former England U21 star, who recently returned to the Royals from a loan spell with Norwich, scored in last night`s 4-0 win against Watford at the Madjeski.

Speaking to the Reading Chronicle newspaper after the game Lita declared his intention to fight for his Reading future.

He was quoted as saying that he had held ‘clear the air’ talks with Coppell, was going nowhere and wanted to be a part of the Royals promotion campaign for the remainder of the season.

Leroy confirmed that his attitude in the past was not healthy for the team and that he had now matured and realised his importance to the dressing room, playing or not.

The Reading fans were glad to see him back at the Madejski last night and gave him a rousing reception when he came off the bench to score his first Reading goal of the season.

Lita expressed his thanks to the Reading fans in the interview and said how appreciative he was to them.

Personally, I would love Lita to get back in form for the Royals and push for his place in the team but with 28 goals between Doyle and Noel Hunt already this term, he may find his chances limited.

Coppell refused to be drawn on the strikers future but insisted that with four quality strikers to choose from, it could only be healthy for the club.
