Striker Lita has been without a club since his release at the start of the summer but there was no shortage of interest in the player. Infact he turned down Sheffield United to sign at the Riverside and is eager to make up for lost time, starting with Boro’s game against the Blades on Friday night – the opening game of the Championship season.

In an interview with Sky Sports News after joining Boro, Lita admitted that he asked to leave Reading last season but became frustrated that his wish wasn’t granted.

‘It’s been frustrating. I made it clear that I was trying to get away from Reading and the club wouldn’t let me go.

‘I had to go out on loan a couple of times to get games because I didn’t just want to train and not play. I showed people I’m a good player, and I always thought it was time for me to move on.’

Surprized at this move .. always thought he’d be given a chance at one of the lower premiership clubs,.. word on the street was that Coppell just didn’t rate him – Is that trrue?

Lita is not good enough to play in the Premier League, he had enough chances to prove himself under Coppell. I was quite surprised he managed to find a club as good as Middlesbrough to take him – must have a good agent.
