Peter Taylor has called up Leroy Lita to England’s U-21 squad that are due to face Norway next week.

Lita had the chance to show Taylor what he could do when he featured in Taylor’s under 21 League team that beat Italy at the KC Stadium on Tuesday evening, Lita played the whole of the first half.

That was Lita’s second cap for the League XI, his first was around twelve months ago when he played against Holland and he got on the score sheet on his debut.

Now Taylor feels that he is ready to progress further.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Lita said: ‘Making my Under-21s debut was a dream come true and I’d love to get another chance.’

The match will be played at Reading’s Madejski Stadium, and Lita added: ‘It’s my home ground, so it’ll be even more special to me.

‘The fans are great and it will be a very good atmosphere.’

    Steve Coppell popped his head back round the press-room door last night to ask for the code to open the exit door. The Reading manager may not know his way out of Bramall Lane, but he has the key to the Barclays Premiership after this result.
