Reading midfielder Mikele Leigertwood has said that the entire squad, including the manager, was angry with the manner of the defeat against Wigan.

Brian McDermott’s side sacrificed a point at the DW Stadium, as the Latics snatched all three points two minutes into injury time. Jay Tabb was one player to come out and publicly state the squads frustration and his midfield partner has shared these views, saying how the manager and the team are angry with themselves over getting nothing from the game.

Speaking to the Official Reading FC website, Leigertwood said: ‘The manager reacted angrily and it was definitely justified. We were all angry with ourselves. We need to learn. We’ve gone ahead numerous times this season and we need to get the desired result. We approach all games in the same way; we want to play fast, attacking football.’

‘We are creating chances, but we need to work on keeping them out. To battle back for a draw and then lose it late was very disappointing indeed. We’re lucky that we’ve got another game coming up so quickly, we’ve got a chance to put it right. We’ve picked ourselves up from tough days before and we can do so again.’
