Dutch legend Davids has been without a club since leaving Ajax in the summer and Leicester chairman Milan Mandaric has used his contacts to try to convince Davids to move to the Walkers Stadium.
A decision is expected to be made by the weekend, from Davids and his agent, and he could be inline of a debut at the Madejski Stadium is Mondays game against the Foxes.
Davids is no stranger to the Madejksi Stadium having sat in the directors box after signing for Spurs days before a pre season friendly in 2005.
