Kitson Backed for England

Dave Kitson playing for England, is it such a ridiculous thought? Not according to coach Kevin Dillon.

His first season in the Premier League was basically ruined by injury, and this season started with a red card and a three-match ban, but he has still recovered to become Reading’s top goalscorer so far with three goals.

Both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland have expressed an interested in Kitson playing for them, but it is England that he has his sights set on, and Dillon told the sun that he thinks that he can, “It’s not ridiculous to suggest Kits could be there. He has made it plain he wants that. He’s not there saying ‘I should play for England’.

“But he’s turned down the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. They were desperate for him to play for them.”

If Kitson can prove himself this season then who is to say that he can’t get his chance.

Leroy Lita was the one that I thought most likely to make that step up, but I would not write off Kitson’s chances.

    No chance for Kitson.

If you watch Kitson regularly you might change your opinion on that? I’m not saying he will, but don’t write him off.

You’ve got a point, MR. But the last time I watched him live, he was sent off within a couple of minutes of coming on!

That was a side of Kitson that is rarely seen, if it is seen again I will be surprised. I think he is the most complete all-round forward that Reading have.

I remember the days when i saw him playing for Cambridge and I’m not surprised he is competing well in the premiership!! I would love to see him play for England!
