Brian McDermott has made his third signing of the January transfer window by bringing in defender Zurab Khizanishvili on loan from Blackburn until the end of the season.
The defender, who can also play as a holding midfielder, spent the first half of the season on loan at league leaders Newcastle but will now switch his attentions to the other end of the table.
He will go straight into the squad for Tuesday’s trip to Sheffield United and will wear the squad number 44. He had requested the number 13, his regular squad number, but was disappointed to hear that this was already reserved for the fans!
