Reading midfielder Jem Karacan is a target for Turkish side Fenerbahce, according to the Daily Star.

The 23-year old midfielder has Turkish connections through his father, which has led Karacan to appear for Turkey at all youth levels. However, despite playing at youth level for the Turkish, Karacan is still eligible to play for England, his original country of birth.

Jem unfortunately broke his ankle in April during a match against Leeds but hopes to be fit for Reading’s pre-season. The former Millwall loanee was linked with a move to fellow Turkish side Galatasaray a few seasons ago, the team his father supports, but a move did not materialise.

If he wasn’t tempted to a move to Galatasaray when you were playing in the Championship, I can’t see his head being turned by Fenerbache when he has the chance to play in the PL. He is England nationalised anyway isn’t he (thought he was from London) so the link to a move to Turkey may be a non starter if he considers England his home

Yep, born and bred in London. Agree that it would pretty much be a no go considering he is playing in the Prem now, most likely to be one of the first names on the team sheet too.
