Jones Refs Burnley Clash


Unless there is a late change, the referee who takes charge of Reading’s game at Turf Moor against Burnley at the weekend is Michael Jones of Chester.

Jones started his refereeing career in the Chester and District leagues in 1983 and was promoted to the Football Leagues assistant?s list in 1992, moving onto the referee’s list 1n1996

The last time Reading met up with Jones was earlier this season in December when the Royals took on Luton Town at the Mad Stad, Reading won the game 3-0 with goals from Sidwell, Kitson and Doyle, there was no cards shown in that game.

The last time Burnley met up with Jones was January 2005 in funnily enough, the home game against Reading. That game ended 0-0 and just Steve Sidwell was booked.

So far this season Jones has been in charge of 32 games, in that time he has shown 100 cards in total, 95 yellow and five red. Of the 32 games. Jones has completed two without showing a card whilst his highest card count for one game is seven yellows, that has happened twice.
