Ivar Sees Red Over Yellow

Reading centre back Ivar Ingimarsson has revealed his frustration following his yellow card in the defeat at home to Bolton on Saturday.

The Icelandic international will now miss the trip to Goodison Park this weekend, as the booking was his fifth of the season.

He said, ‘It was a really soft booking, the referee could have let it go.

‘I am really frustrated about missing Everton but whoever comes in will do a good job. We need hard work and results to stay in this league now but I believe we can do it.’

With Michael Duberry still sidelined, Ingimarsson is likely to be replaced by Ibrahima Sonko, who has returned from the African Nations without eve playing a game.

Sonko had conceded three penalties in four games before going to Ghana, and his lack of football during the tournament is hardly likely to have filled him with confidence.

With Reading desperate for points at the moment, Sonko is hardly the man to steady the ship, but due to the lack of movement in the transfer window and Reading’s brightest academy player Alex Pearce being shipped out on loan, Steve Coppell doesn’t have much of a choice.
