A round-up of all the Royals players that have been away on international duty this week.
Fan favourite Danny Williams made his first start for the United States in just over two years, as he started in defensive midfield for Jurgen Klinsmann’s side. He played the whole game, as USA picked up a credible 1-1 draw away to Switzerland in a friendly.
Williams has been really important for the #USMNT today. Other players have confidence going forward knowing he is sitting deep behind them

Been liking Danny Williams’ performance so far. Looks more composed since having a big role w/ Reading. #USMNT

Excited to see Danny Williams back in #USMNT lineup. Been a long time. His ability at holding spot should further free up Michael Bradley

It seems that Williams has some admirers in the US, as well as in Berkshire. Unfortunately, he will be banned for this Saturday’s home game against Cardiff though, meaning new loan signing Nathan Ake is likely to make his debut and take his place, alongside Oliver Norwood.
Good news also for goalkeeper Adam Federici, who made a rare start for Australia, picking up a clean sheet in their draw at Macedonia. Young Aussie Ryan Edwards was once again instrumental for the Australia under 23s, as they thumped Myanmar 5-1.
