Following today’s clash between Sheffield Wednesday and Reading, here are the instant reactions from both managers.

Sheffield Wednesday hosted Reading at Hillsborough for a 7.45pm kick off on Friday January 26 for the FA Cup fourth round clash.

Atde Nuhiu secured a brace in the game for the hosts with a goal in each half and George Boyd added a third to tie the game up.

Cameron Dawson’s own goal to get Reading on the scoresheet was simply a consolation on the day, but had they taken earlier chances the game could well have turned out differently and that’s what Jaap Stam will most likely focus on.

Teams:

Sheff Wed:

Dawson, Hunt, Ferrao Venancio, Loovens, Pudil (Palmer 63), Fox, Boyd, Pelupessy, Reach (Jones 71), Matias (Rhodes 89), Nuhiu.

Substitutes:

Butterfield, Lucas Joao, Wildsmith, Wallace.

Reading:

Jaakkola, Gunter, Moore, Ilori, Bacuna (Evans 79), Beerens, Clement, Edwards, McCleary (Barrow 66), Kermorgant (Smith 79), Bodvarsson.

Substitutes:

Mannone, Aluko, Blackett, Kelly.

Speaking to the BBC’s cameras a short time after match day referee John Brooks blew the final whistle, Sheffield Wednesday manager Jos Luhukay explained.

‘Reading gave us problems in the first half, had a couple of chances but we have a fantastic goalkeeper. In the right moments, we took our chances to score. We hope these games give the team confidence in the coming matches and of course for the next round.’

Reading manager Jaap Stam in his comparative interview explained.

‘I felt we played quite well to be honest. But if you are helping the opposition by losing that ball then it is going to be very difficult to win.’

He added about one win in the last eleven.

‘That’s how it goes at times. Everyone is working hard to turn it around.’
