After a promising start to his loan spell at Brentford FC, Simon Cox has been effectively returned to Reading after breaking his leg in Wednesday night`s game.

Simon Cox, the Reading youngster has broken his leg whilst playing for Brentford on loan. The 19year old will be returned to the Royals a game earlier then scheduled due to the injury.

Cox originally left the pitch for treatment in Wednesday`s game away to Millwall, but he returned onto the pitch only to be forced off again by a meaty challenge.

Brentford manager, Leroy Rosenior commented: “I am absolutely gutted for Simon. He has got better and better for us and I thought last he was magnificent. We will miss him both on and off the field.”

Cox played in five games for the Bees, featuring in the centre of midfield. He raised a few eyebrows while playing at the club with his good performance and even took a man of the match award.

Fortunately, Cox`s injury is not serious and the player can expect a return to fitness in just over a month`s time.
