Royals captain Ivar Ingimarsson has commited to the club for another season after signing a new one year contract at the Madejski Stadium.

He had been out of contract and linked with a move to Bristol City, to join up with former manager Steve Coppell – the man who first brought him to Berkshire.

Ingimarsson joined Reading in 2003 from Wolves and has gone on to become a legend at the club. He played every minute of our first season in the Premiership and has made 275 appearances, making him our longest serving player by a long way.

He missed the end of season with a hamstring injury but is set to be fit to return in time for pre season.

great news, didn’t think he would sign just a years deal. Lets hope he can stay injury free next season.
