It appears that Reading will delve into the loan market in order to fill the void left by Nicky Shorey.

Left-back Shorey completed a move back to the Premier League last week with Aston Villa and Reading have yet to draft in a replacement.

Rumours have surfaced that the Royals will make a loan move for higly rated Arsenal youngster Kieran Gibbs.

Gibbs spent some time on loan at Norwich last season and all though failed to turn heads there, he has had an impressive pre-season in a new role as left-back.

The 18-year old can also play on the left-wing as well as in the centre of midfield.

Although he was playing his cards close to his chest, Reading chief executive Nigel Howe has admitted that the Royals could make a loan move for Gibbs.

He said: ‘It is important we get the right person in. Gibbs is the sort of player Arsenal will loan out.

‘Signing a Premier League player for the season could be attractive to a club like ours.’

Just get Hunt back into his natural and most effective position. He will be wasted as left back. Just get Kieran in and get him playing.
