The Royals reserves were in action on Tuesday afternoon, and beat local rivals Swindon 4-3 in a cracking encounter.

Noel Hunt scored a fine hat trick and now appears to finally be over his injury worries that have plagued him for nearly a year.

Jay Tabb and Andy Griffin also made their long awaited comebacks from injury, Tabb playing a half whilst Griffin managed an hour.

Brian Howard was also back after his domestic ban for a red card at Middlesbrough in September, and he scored the other goal from the spot with a cheeky chip.

Griffin and Tabb are unlikely to be involved on Saturday, as they need more game time before a first team return but Howard is sure to feature, possibly from the bench.

We also played a mystery ‘trialist’ for the second game running, leaving others guessing as to who the player is. He managed 72 minutes this time out, after a previous run out against Crystal Palace reserves.
