Reading defender Michael Hector has joined League One side Shrewsbury Town on a six-month loan deal.

The 20-year old has made the move to newly-promoted side, despite strong interest from League Two outfit AFC Wimbledon. Terry Brown admitted that there was interest from an unamed higher league side, which would put doubt to a move to the Kingsmeadow Stadium.

Hector signed an extended two-year deal with the club a few weeks ago, following a highly successful loan spell at League Two side Barnet. He made 27 appearances and scored two goals during his tenure at Underhill, earning interest from Premier League sides West Ham & Norwich.
