Harps Hurting

Royals midfielder James Harper, always has a smile on his face, but he has admitted that even he is getting depressed over the way the Royals have performed this season.

Harps has played in three divisions for the Royals and his desperate not to go backwards.

He said, ‘I can’t tell you how much I don’t want to go down. I have been there in League One and the Championship before and I don’t want to go there again, I would hate it.

‘I’m not looking at the teams below me – if you do that you’re going to go down. I want to catch Newcastle and Boro. Leroy (Lita) said to me that looking at the table hurts him and it hurts me too. I can’t speak for the boys but I’m confident we’ll stay up.’

The Reading strikers have been firing blanks recently, but Harper feels the blame lies with the midfield for lack of service.

He explained, ‘Our service to the strikers has been shocking. We haven’t provided them with anything, passing or crosses. But I’m confident that will change.’

The positive view from Harper is just what the rest of the team need if they are going to survive.

However, Harper’s final words suggest that he may have been joking or heavily drinking during the interview.

He said, ‘People don’t realise how good John Oster is. He is brilliant and if he gets a run in the team he’ll be great.’

Oh dear, first he compares Jimmy Kebe to Thierry Henry, now he’s claiming John Oster is brilliant, seems like James Harper is definitely a right wing man.
