Defender John Halls has returned to Reading Football Club after a month long loan deal came to an end at the weekend.

Halls made five appearances for the Eagles the latest coming in the 2-0 defeat to Charlton at the Valley on Friday night.

Warnock could have extended the deal to 93 days but chose not to after fellow right back Danny Butterfield signed a new two year deal this morning.

The door still remains open for a return to Palace after Warnock is quoted as saying ‘Reading’s manager Steve Coppell has left it open and said we could have John back later in the season if we want to.’

It is not known if Halls will be a potential summer target for the Eagles but it is reported that his contract is up at the end of the season and could be available for a free transfer.
