Reading`s no.1 Marcus Hahnemann has disclosed that he would like to stay a Royal till he retires.
The American keeper is hoping to secure a deal that sees him finish his career at Reading.
“I really want to extend my contract. I love it here and my family love it here,’ Hahnemann said.
Marcus, who has been at the club since is meeting with Reading`s Director of Football to put pen to paper on a deal that he hopes could take him up to his 39th birthday:
‘I feel I can play until I’m 39. I would like to get to the next World Cup and play for a year after that.
‘I am due my PFA pension when I turn 35 but I will put that off for a while.”
Hahnemann was crucial in last season`s Championship winning season, the stopper kept 22 clean-sheets in 47games.
‘I’d like to think I could finish my career at Reading, but saying that finishing in the MLS (America’s Major League Soccer) is a possibility.”
Meanwhile Scott Golbourne has returned to Reading after his short term loan deal at Wycombe Wanderers ended.
The teenage defender ended his loan spell on a high scoring the equalising goal in Wycombe 1-1 draw with Grimsby last Saturday.
Wycombe boss Paul Lambert admitted he would love to secure the young man on a permanent basis if such a chance arose.
‘I’d love to have him here permanently but we will have to see what happens in January.’
‘The lad Golbourne scored a terrific goal for us and he has been great since arriving from Reading,’ Lambert praised.”
And Golbourne seems only too eager to see out the season at Wycombe adding:
“It`s been good for me here I`ve had some good experiences.”
“I feel like I`ve started something here now so I may as well see it through. But we`ll have to see what happens. I want to be playing first team football.”

Always rated your keeper, ever since that night he kept us out in a League Cup match that was finally settled by a Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink goal.
hopefully he will continue to play with you…
