Goalkeeper pens new deal

Reading goalkeeper Adam Federici has signed a new three-year contract, which will keep him at the Madejski Stadium until 2015.


The contract was signed yesterday in what is a massive coup for Reading Football Club, considering his contract was set to run out in the summer of 2013. The former Wolves trainee signed for the Royals way back in 2005 and has gone on to make 146 appearances for Brian McDermott’s side, making the number one spot his own over the past three seasons.


Speaking to the Official Reading FC website, Federici said: ‘It’s absolutely great to have signed this new contract. I’ve been here a long time, I’ve put in a lot of blood, sweat and tears so it wouldn’t have been right to do anything other than sign again. There’s a real good feel around the place, the club is only going in one direction and that’s upwards.’


Federici, an Australian international, has already had Premier League and Olympic experience. With six new transfers already been completed this summer, there is no doubt that this new contract for Federici is equivalent to one. A highly-rated goalkeeper by many, who is also expected to take the number one jersey for his country in the coming year.
