Nigel Adkins picked up his first win as Reading boss against Fulham today, as the Royals put in a superb showing to win 4-2 at Craven Cottage.

The Royals took the lead in the meaningless fixture in the 12th minute, as Hal Robson-Kanu converted the penalty he won, after being fouled by John Arne Riise. Into the second half, the Welsh international then deservedly doubled the Royals lead, curling home a sublime effort past Mark Schwarzer from inside the box.

Fulham did get back into the game in the 70th minute, as Bryan Ruiz combined with Hugo Rodalegga to reduce the deficit. The two goal lead was reinstated by substitute Adam Le Fondre, before Bryan Ruiz got another one back. However, Jem Karacan’s goal rounded off the scoring, for only Reading’s second away win of the season.
