Reading ran out 2-1 winners against Ipswich after three penalties decided a pretty poor game.

The home side dominated possession once again but failed to create many clear cut chances and a penalty on the stroke of half time and in 95th minute decided the game.

We had the better of the first half, controlling the game and went into half time with a deserved lead when Mccleary hammered home a penalty and a debatable handball.

Ipswich equalised just a couple of minutes after the break through a penalty of their own after a very soft push from Blackett was deemed enough of a shove for the ref to point to the spot. Pitman calmly rolled the ball into the bottom corner to make it 1-1.

The game then turned very very scrappy and it looked like it was going to end 1-1 with neither side managing to string two passes together.

However, with the last kick of the game, van den berg was dragged down blatantly from a corner and Danny Williams made it 2-1 Reading and secured is the three points.

This put the royals 3rd for about 20 hours before going back down to ninth after the other fixtures
