Crystal Palace manager Dougie Freedman has said that Wilfred Zaha can leave Selhurst Park, but only in a good deal for the club.

The 19-year old was a target on deadline day for Royals boss Brian McDermott, but failed to agree a fee with Palace to bring the talented youngster to the Madejski Stadium. Newcastle are another side monitoring Zaha’s situation, but Freedman is standing firm on his future.

Speaking to London24, the 38-year old said: “Wilfried Zaha`s got a five year contract and as far as I can see he`s going nowhere right now. If the right club approaches me then I`ll talk to the chairman. If enough money gets put in front of the chairman then he`ll decide.’

‘Wilfried`s got a long way to go. He`s a young player learning his trade and I think there`s no better place right now than Crystal Palace to learn it. Clyney`s deal came up and we felt it was a good bit of business. We`ve obviously got to balance the books.”
