The Royals agreed a fee and Wright Phillips was set to sign earlier this month but an ongoing knee injury saw him fail a medical. However he didn’t have to wait long for someone to take a chance on him.
It was rumoured that he could not train for 3 days after a game but following a second opinion from another specialist he has been cleared to move to League One side Charlton.
That will come as a relief to his club Plymouth who are desperate for cash to pay off an outstanding tax bill.
