Former Reading striker Noel Hunt is set to join Leeds today, after agreeing personal terms yesterday.

The 30-year old was released by the Royals last month, after he was not offered an extension by the club. According to the reliable Yorkshire Evening Post, he will complete his medical in the coming days and should be officially announced on Thursday or Friday.

Hunt, a former Republic of Ireland international, had spent five years at the Madesjki Stadium, scoring 39 goals in 162 games. Noel was signed from Dundee United in 2008 by former boss Steve Coppell, for a fee in the region of £600,000.

Noel was always a great character to have around the place and was rightfully recognised for his regular charity work in the community. Leeds have a decent forward on their hands, who probably has a few more decent seasons still to give in the Championship.

We will be answering some questions for our friends over at Vital Leeds on Hunt during the week.
