Fitness shines through

I have to admit that even I was still a bit knackered from Wednesday night going to the game on Saturday and that is why I thought this game would be a real struggle for the players.

However I was proved totally wrong and the players desire from the first minute really shone through. They continued where they had left off at the Hawthorns and got stronger as the game went on.

The pace at which we attacked, and the number of oppurtunities we created, was superb and it continued right upto the final whistle.

That is in stark contrast to the Royals side earlier in the season under Brendan Rodgers. Our fitness was poor and we often conceded late goals, which is not just coincidence, its about concentration and tiredness.

I had doubts over the decision to sack Rodgers, I had even more doubts over the decision to appoint McDermott full time. I am really enjoying be proved wrong time and time again!!
