After his match winning display at Derby on Saturday Adam Federici has come out and told the press that he still has ambitions of playing in the Premier League and wants to be back there sooner rather than later.

With his contract coming to an end at the end of this season, and no new deal agreed yet, this statement could put the likes of Fulham, Spurs and Arsenal on red alert if you believe what you read!

Federici told Sky Sports, ‘I’m not going to hide my ambition, I’ve come a long way to play in this country and I want to be at the highest level.’

Whilst he proved on Saturday what a top keeper he is, is he really likely to go straight into the team as number 1 at a Premier League club right now? After so long as Marcus Hahnemann’s deputy why would he want to go back to sitting on the bench?

He would be better off signing a new deal here and helping to get us promoted, which he admits is realistic this season. We need to tie him to a new deal quickly though as he is free to speak to clubs from January, as he will be in the last 6 months of his contract.
