Eamonn Dolan, who was diagnosed with cancer a couple of months back, has tragically passed away at the age of 48.

Dolan was a fantastic servant to the club where he was manager of the successful academy for 10 years.

The former Striker was then caretaker for one game at Old Trafford in between the McDermott and Adkins era’s.

It’s a very sad day for the club the day after our academy kept it’s category 1 status.

Our academy has been the biggest plus to our club with players like Gylfi Sigurdsson and now Jordan Obita and Aaron Tshibola all coming through. The likes of Barrett, Fosu and Stacey are also on the verge of breaking through.

The success of the academy has been from U10s winning the league all through to the U21s success in the Premier League cup the last few years and massive credit has to be given to Eamonn for the work he’s done.

Should the North Stand now be named after him?

RIP Eamonn Dolan!
