He might not be able to score for Reading at the moment, but Kevin Doyle has received the Ireland goal of the year award for 2007.
The award, voted for by the Ireland fans, was given to Doyle for his excellent long ranged goal in the Euro Championships Qualifier in Slovakia.
Doyle was also in the running for Irish player of the year, but that award went to Richard Dunne.
Fellow Royals striker Shane Long was also nominated for an award, young player of the year, but that was won by Stephen Ireland.
With Doyle yet to score with his foot this season, hopefully this award will give him a much needed confidence boost, as Reading will need all their players on top form if they are to beat the drop this season.
