Reading striker Kevin Doyle is set to win his first competitive cap for the Republic of Ireland in their Euro 2008 qualifier against Germany.
Doyle, who has been tipped as a key player in Ireland’s future by manager Steve Staunton, is going to partner captain Robbie Keane in attack in Saturday’s game.
His appearance will also signal a significant windfall for his father, Paddy, who is going to net £10,000 after placing a bet on Doyle representing Ireland in a competitive game.
The bet was placed while Doyle was still at Eircom League side Cork City.
The Royals ace has previously made three friendly appearances for his countr.y
